Record Label Business Plan Template Free
You know you need a record label business plan if you’re in the record industry, or if you’re thinking about entering the music industry. But what if you don’t have to enter the music industry? Do you really need a plan? Don’t you just need to get out there and make your music and figure from there? Maybe, just maybe, but it would be much more practical to obtain a plan from someone who knows the ropes, who has experience, who has been where you are now, and who can show you how to get there!
I’m talking about YOUR BLUEgrass Plan. It’s totally free. Over at The Record Label Resource Site, there is a link to a page with over 100 pages of bluegrass resources including CDs, DVDs, Videos, Audio Clips, and more. There’s even a “How to Get started in the music business” section with a wealth of links and resources. The beauty of having a resource that shows you how to get started in the music business is that it is already prepared and available to you for free. You don’t have to do any of the work.
What if you don’t have a record label business plan, or your record label business doesn’t have a plan? How do you get your music into the world as well as how to distribute it? Don’t worry, this is not an impossible question to answer either!
The first step is to find an opportunity that interests you. You can find opportunities all over the place — from home projects, to online ventures, to traditional business ventures. You’ll need to do your homework, and be open to learning what’s out there. When you find an opportunity that you are interested in, do your research! Read the info that is provided, ask questions, call the company, etc. You don’t want to get involved with something that is shady operation!
Next, when you know what company you want to get involved with, you must create your “music page”. Your music page should have your full name (and ideally a link to your website), your song title, artist name, and website details. This page is very important! It tells potential customers who you are, why you’re great, and just how excited you are about making music! People trust singers and artists who put their heart into their music and who genuinely care about the people that will listen to it!
Now it’s time to expand your horizons as far as distribution is concerned! You can sign up with as many record labels as you want! This is a great way to market yourself! The more exposure you have, the more people will know about you, and the more opportunity you will have to earn a living from selling music!
Lastly, make sure that your financial plan covers all of your expenses while you’re building up your record label business. You don’t want to be in the red at the end of the month because you spent way too much on marketing. Also, make sure that you are financially capable of paying for any fees that you might incur during this process. It never hurts to talk to an accountant if you’re not sure what to do.
Now that you have a record label business plan in front of you, what are you waiting for? Get started right away! Use the template! I guarantee that after you use it once, you’ll be using it again. The point of a record label business plan template is to give you the edge over the competition. You need a plan so that you can develop the strategies and tactics that will work to launch your career and build your reputation!
